NeverMissAnotherWinner.com

nevermissanotherwinner.com was a company that provided a betting service to its members, and was designed to be an online accounts website to allow its customers to login see their how their bets were doing. This was a very successful website and received nothing but praises from its members. Sadly however the company has since gone into administration.

The Karl Dennis Raceletter

The Karl Dennis Raceletter website was one of the first websites I worked on. Myself and a friend of mine built the website to accompany the Raceletter magazine and it allows the writer of the magazine to put updates online for people to read and if they like it they have the option to sign up for a subscription to it. He provides reports on the betting systems that he has trialled and provides detailed reports on them.

Build a Sand Castle

Sand Castle Game

I developed this game a while back for inclusive, in the game you have to build yourself a sand castle using the tools and items provided. All the graphics are done by their expert graphic artist Chris, I had just code it to their needs.

Audiobase

Audiobase

This was developed when I was working for the Radclyffe School. One of the issues over the network was fact that there was never any disk space remaining, this was due to the amount of duplicate audio files that where held on there. We found over a 100 versions of one particular Power Ballad song that took over 12mb each time.

We realised if the school had one central location to store, play all their audio files we could vastly reduce the disk space required by staff and pupils. So I designed and developed audiobase to do just this. I am unable to provide a link to this because it is securely held on the schools personal network so I hope an image will suffice

!?! Memorize !?!

Memorize

This was a game I designed and developed for the school, it was a quick and simple game with buttons on the screen from 1 - 9, one lit up, and you had to remember it. Each turn an additional random number lit up and you had to remember the sequence. Built into it was a scoring system were all the scores of the players were stored in a database to create a competition. This became one of the most competitive games in the school with pupils and staff all fighting to get to the top.

Fossil Hunter

Memorize

I think this was the first game I developed for Inclusive, the game itself is very simple, the user has to click on a section of rocks to dig out the fossil, then guess what dinosaur it is. Each time they click a section of rocks they lose a point. On the correct guess an animation is played of the dinosaur.

All the graphics where designed by inclusives graphic artist Chris who has done an excellent job. Please click on the image to have a go of this game

PictureTheSpace.com

Picture the space

I developed this website a couple of years ago, the whole site was designed in flash. The website was developed to allow the owner to sell their artwork online and provide a canvas printing service. The users could go through the categories, choose and test the images on various canvases, select and pay for them via paypal. The site dynamically loaded all of the pictures on the fly and retrieved the data stored in a mysql database. A shopping cart was built into the website to allow buyers the option to purchases multiple items at once. Buyers could also upload their own pictures to get quotes on printing their images onto canvases.

Sadly this website is now no longer available and has been closed down.

TheLayPlace.com

The Lay Place

I developed this website about a year ago now and is turning into a very successful venture. The website allows its members to login and view the daily tip for lay betting. Members sign up to monthly/quarterly/yearly subscriptions that is taken automatically via paypal. The idea of the website is a simple one, but is designed that way to attract and not confuse potential customers.

Radclyffe School VTLE

VTLE

When I worked for the Radclyffe School, we where given the task to develop the school’ vle. We worked on this for several months making sure that we provided everything that was required by staff and pupils. The vle had several dedicated sections built into it. The lesson database was the primary function, this allowed staff who where granted access to add lesson plans for their subjects, upload files, videos (linked from vbase), audio files (linked from audiobase), homeworks, keywords that linked to the online dictionary and be able to set tasks to be completed. Each subject was then css styled to allow customisation to their areas, but keep the structure in there so users didn’t get lost.

The site was designed so that it had security levels so users couldn’t access anything they didn’t need to and everything they did need It provided a booking system to allow pupils book into extra curricular activites, email facilities, user documents, staff contact numbers, and many other options.

Since I left the school has decided to go down a different route with their online activities, but still use some of facilities the vle provides.

Random Number Generator

random number generator

Aren’t brothers pains, I was talking to mine the other night and he came up with the question "How can a logical computer come up with a random number to pick a random track for him to listen to?". I simply responded most computer languages have a simple Math function called rand(), where you basically multiply the total number of tracks against the function to get a random number to play. Anyway after two days of not thinking about it, it dawned on me I never really answered his question so I had to find out it does actually do it. So here is my answer (after searching several websites), it isn’t random sadly, first you get the total number of seconds or milliseconds from Unix Epoch (since midnight January 1, 1970) which is the initialiser value (the seed value), then you times it by 1,103,515,245 and add 12,345 to it, then you divide it by 65,536 and then you calculate the modulus by 32768, divide the answer by 32768 & multiply by your maximum value. In the example I initialise the seed with the milliseconds from Unix Epoch and the maximum is 100, just for the idea of percentages, then when I have completed the function the seed is changed to the modulus answer, then it stores the answer into an array which is then projected so you can see how many times each number has been *randomly* chosen.

I know I am geek even before you say anything, but it pays well.

Racing-Online.co.uk V2

racing-online.co.uk

Here is the latest project I have been investing most of my time in lately. The guys at racing-online.co.uk have decided to push the current magazine to run online and allowed me to head up the development of their site.

They want to become one of the biggest online horse racing article websites by keeping you up to date on all the latest racing news & even spend time testing those often worrying tipsters and betting systems.

The website itself is a subscription based website with monthly automated payments if you want to sign up. You can also purchase articles if you only want to read the one article. I have designed it so it is search engine optimised (test it by searching for any of the article titles in google, yahoo & bing) and is working well.

With the future in mind there will be a mobile version of the website coming out soon.

Dreamlots.co.uk

Finally! after months of work of building, rebuilding, rebuilding some more dreamlots has finally gone live!

This website is a timed auction website designed to sell off brand new end of line products. It moves away from our current auction based selling as it is no longer dedicated to specific auctions times and dates. This website is running so items can sell and be adding around the clock with no time restrictions.

The site has just been launched and is looking to go through on-going changes to provide the best possible services we can offer.

Take a look and let me know what you think!

Multi Drawer

I can`t believe I forgot to add this one!

Multi Drawer is exactly what the name says, fun & addict game where you can draw what ever like! PLUS!!!! people can join you on other computers and draw with you! all on one screen. Multiplayer!!!!!!

You can setup your own rooms or just join someone elses to help draw out anything you like. There is also a chat function with a foul language filter to stop the swearing in the game and the ability to save the picture and store it in the games gallery for everyone to see.

Sadly theres no link to let you have a go as it is being run in an internal system so a picture will just have to do.
